This is absolutely the most poorly written book I have ever read. It ignores every basic principle of creative writing, starting with "show, don't tell." The premise is not even original (it's adapted from 'Day of the Triffids,' which was mentioned in the novel), and the ending is a complete cop-out. I only managed to finish it because I was stuck on a plane for ten hours.
