This is a typical boy meets girl love story with current events like 9/11. It's a tragedy and even the prologue will tell you that it does not end well. It is from the view of the protagonist, John. Even though the army is a large part of his life, he only mentions it in general and talks about 9/11 and Iraq briefly. I enjoyed reading it but gave it 4 stars only because I'm sap for tragedies. It's a well polished story line but pretty typical.
