This is the unforgettable account of one of the most severe child abuse cases in California history. It is the story of Dave Pelzer, who was brutally beaten and starved by his emotionally unstable, alcoholic mother. Dave overcame all of the torture. He was honored as one of he Ten Outstanding Young Americans and as one of the Outstanding Young Persons of the World in 1993 and 1994, respectively.

This book though incredibly sad, is well written. It will open your eyes to child abuse.
