Bookstagram put The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune on my reading radar. I'm grateful to Libro.fm for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook skillfully created by Daniel Henning. His narration was very theatrical and entertaining, and he fully created each unique character.

This was a delightful reading experience, but I don't anticipate it being in my top 10 of the year. Usually magical realism is as far as I venture into âfantasyâ so this was a (wonderful) stretch.

I'm so very happy this novel exists in the world, and I hope it makes its way into the hands and ears of everyone who needs to hear its core message that every being has value and importance just as we are regardless of our background, our past, our abilities or inabilities, or whom we love. If ever our world needs this reminder, it is now.
