I may be a bit slanted in my rating, as I have read numerous books by this author. As usual, the writing is very good, story seemed a bit disjointed though. In the end, it seems that perhaps it wasn't about the story so much as the mother/daughter relationships: their expectations, hopes and dreams, and unfortunately miscommunication. book received in goodreads contest with expectation of fair/unbiased review
