Lovely book with gruesome true stories. Oh to be a Queen dressed daily in the most beautiful finery and doomed to having your head looped off or as in Brunhilde's fate, an act carried out much more "entertaining" for the villagers. Marrying the king was signing your death warrant while blinded by the jewels.
The chapters are short and filled with lots of information. No long winded senseless information to muddle through. Written with a bit of tactful humor. Well as tactful as one can be when recalling someone's demise. I enjoyed the book a lot. I'm thinking those who are interested in such subjects will not be disappointed.
