This was quite an interesting read. I actually love Elizabeth Boyle and have been anxiously awaiting "Pippen's" story after reading all her previous books.
The book was written very well. I actually liked the flashbacks between the different periods. I found that it also filled in the gaps her previous books left open. (although it can stand alone, I think it would be better to read them in order because so much of the content relates back to scenes from earlier stories)
Having said that, I don't think I liked the hero's character any more. He "fixes" himself (some what) at the end, but I enjoy heros with more hidden redeemingable qualities to start with. I feel like Pippin's mom in that she could've done better than him.:) - Especially having to have waited so long in her life to have her happily ever after.
But.... If you have read the previous books, definately read this.
And.... If you enjoy reading books with older heroines or / and almost unredeemable heros, this would be a good book for you too.
