i wanted to know what happened next, so in that sense the book was good.

yet its "embeddedness" in the USA Global War on Terror gave me the heevie - jeevies.

Also, I never sympathized with Anwar's character, which of course made me less sympathetic to other characters. And an attempted "honor killing?" really?
