Book Review of Rainbow Road (Rainbow, Bk 3)

Rainbow Road (Rainbow, Bk 3)

In the final book of the trilogy, after the traumatic events of coming out, dealing with social conflicts, and pairing up in couples, the boys take the opportunity for a cross country road trip. But this is completely different than their living at home and attending school. Under the constant intimacy of driving and travel, with shared responsibilities, problems and unintended foul ups occur causing ongoing antagonisms and lingering resentments. It turns up a lot of rough patches being forced to learn things about your closest friends, seeing aspects of them come out that you'd never seen before which are extremely unsettling. The question is, will these unlooked for and unanticipated changes rupture the deep bonds so recently formed or can the disappointments and misconceptions be overcome? Alex Sanchez winds up the series with keenly observed intelligence, with his hallmark empathy and wit.
