This book was readable but I had to make myself read it. It's unusual in some of it's characters. The backstory isn't really all that clear to me, and I think it needs to be clearer than it is.

This author is being highly touted and it's probably because she is an African-American female. That is a good thing, but it doesn't make the book a good one.
