Okay. Here's the thing. I love Shiloh Walker's Suspense novels. Broken and Fragile are both keepers for me. So I was pretty excited to read If you Hear Her...
And it was good. Super good. Great characters....We don't just get the perspective of the two main characters, there are some other minor characters' as well as the points of view of future H and h's.
No worries though, even if you aren't generally a fan of secondary characters, as this is defintiely Lena and Ezra's story.
The setting, smalltown USA, was well done, and I could easily picture the town as well as some of it's resdients in my head, which IMO makes for a better overall experience.
Add to that the mystery/suspsense storyline pulled me right in...but i didn't want the book to end (it was just so good!), so i kept dragging out my reading, until finally I couldn't take it and forced myself to finish....
Now here's where the book wasn't so good...now please keep in mind this may or may not be a spoiler, but be warned....
The ending's a clifhanger. Which I'm pretty sure means, the overall mystery is gonna span the three books in the series.... That's not technically a bad thing...unless you don't know about it going in...so now, I'm left with no closure and left feeling a tad irritated.
If I'd known, IDK if i'd have waited til I had all 3 books before I started, or If I'd have gone ahead anyway, but I'd have liked to have the chance to decide for myself, rather than having it come out of nowhere.
I'm sure I'll like the next books, and I am eager to find out how everything is resolved, but for now I'm annoyed.
So, if you'd like to save yourself some aggravation, wait til you've got all three books on hand before you start reading!
