I love Linda Howard. I am a recent convert to her writing and can't seem to get enough. Her stories suck you in and make you feel like you are right there with the characters. This book was no different.

The book starts out when Faith is 11 years old and is madly in childlike with the hometown hero, Gray. The first 60 pages are devoted to her at 11 and 14. At 14 her world is turned upside down when Gray's dad vanishes and it is presumed that he has run off with Faith's mom, the town tramp. Gray, at 23, takes over as head of his wealthy family and kicks Faith and her family out of town in a fit of rage.

12 years later Faith returns to find out what happened that night and where Gray's dad really went. While it is still believed by Gray and his family that his father left with her mom, that is not the truth and Faith is determined to get to the bottom of the story. She is also determined to stay on in Prescott at all cost. She is now successful, financially comfortable and full of confidence. She refuses to be bullied by Gray and his connections in the tiny town, even while she is secretly dying to love him and be loved in return.

Gray will do anything to get her out of town, and to get into her bed. He can't help the attraction they share and is determined to make her his.

Great story with mystery, sadness and plenty of passion......
