If you love Amish fiction and want to read a book with a slightly different twist then pair together an Amish widower who has spent the last seventeen years raising his six children by himself and an Amish widow who after twenty years of marriage had to deal with an unfaithful husband and a new baby at the same time. Katie and Eli find they have an instant attraction when they meet but are both sure that there is no future for them. He is ready to be free from parental responsibilities and she is just beginning. But their hearts do not listen to their heads and God has something wonderful in mind for them.

This book was a fast read and had a background and situations that are different from the usual Amish fiction fare. The story is well written and does a good job of tying several stories into one satisfying novel, and even though it is number two in a series it works well as a stand alone effort. The outcome is a bit predictable but that does not detract from it being a good story. Beth Wiseman is definitely another good author of Amish fiction.
