A wonderful memoir of the sort of family who was fairly ordinary in the mid-20th century.

The author's parents come from two separate ethnic/immigrant enclaves. Completely different views of the world, completely different approaches to life. Reminds me very much of my own parents!

This is a touching and gentle story of the author's life, and her parent's lives, growing up in the shadow of the cathedral in St. Paul.
