Laura Reed is concerned when one of her bright students, Misty, is missing her classes. She knows that Misty wouldn't miss unless something was going on. So she tries to figure out what that is.

J.C. Fullerton is the town's doctor and he's concerned when Misty comes to him asking for a doctor's note to excuse her from class. Misty wont' stay why she needs to not go to school, and J.C. doesn't pressure her, but he wants to help her.

When Laura and J.C. get together, the sparks fly. Even though their romance is blossoming, it takes a backseat to the bullying that they find out is going on right beneath their noses. Misty is being bullied, not only in person, but also online. She's worried her parents will believe the nonsense being posted about her.

A topic that is headlining everywhere right now, and has been an issue that needed a stand taken a long time ago, Catching Fireflies is sure to find a place in your heart. Sweet Magnolia book nine, there is nothing to do but rush out next month and buy this wonderful novel, written with sensitivity and yet with a firm hand, to such a volatile issue. Highly recommend!!
