This is a clearly written explanation of the awful food chemicals that have been introduced to our food supply -- and make it almost impossible to lose weight. The author gives clear reasons for the problems with these fake foods and drinks (one example is high-fructose corn syrup - a substance just about everyone has heard about and how bad it is for you).

Then the author shows what we should be consuming. She likens it to choosing foods from around the edge of the grocery store -- and staying out of the shelves in the middle (that have all the junk food, hyper-processed foods, etc.).

Then she talks about carb-cycling. This is what athletes do and the way she describes the method -- is very doable. Excellent explanations throughout the book.
