Two teenage misfits, Frankie Budge and Zeke Browne, collide one fateful summer and the art they make that changes their lives forever. They make a poster with a phrase and it becomes unforgettable to anyone who sees it. "The edge is a shantytown filled with gold seekers. We are fugitives, and the law is skinny with hunger for us." They take copies of the poster and deliver them throughout the town. Satanists, kidnappers, the rumors won't stop and the repercussions spread through town. The art that brought them Frankie and Zeke together now threatens to tear them apart. This is a coming-of-age story and an exploration of young love, identity and the power of art. It's about secrets that haunt us and what the truth will set free. I enjoyed Kevin Wilson's wit and prose and look forward to reading his next novel. If you like bighearted fiction books, then you will love this book.
