From back of book:

Judith McMonigle Flynn has agreed to run a high school chum's bed-and-breakfast for a few days. What better cure for the off-season blahs than b&b sitting with cousin Renie in rustic splendor on isolated Chavez Island: But peace goes to pieces when one odious blowhard tries to horn in on their supper -- prompting ravenous Renie to conk him on the noggin with a heavy china dish -- moments later, the woozy lout takes a fatal tumble down an inconvenient staircase. Judith, however, has her doubs about this dubious death by dinnerware. But to prove her cantankerous coz innocent, she'll have to find the real killer among the motley island crew--which could pile a lot more nastiness on Judith's plate.
