This is an excellent book for anyone who knows that they are unhappy in their relationship but can't quite identify what is wrong. The author helps you step through questions about the quality of your relationship and helps identify what is working and what is not working. This book contains 36 really interesting diagnostic questions that make you think about your life, such as: DIAGNOSTIC QUESTION #4: If God or some omniscient being said it was okay to leave, would you feel tremendously relieved and have a strong sense that finally you could end your relationship? or DIAGNOSTIC QUESTION #9; Does it seem to you that your partner generally and consistently blocks your attempts to bring up topics or raise questions, particularly about things you care about?
The book guides the reader so that he or she can honestly look at what is good and what is not so good about their relationship, and then decide whether there is enough 'love' or 'commitment' to keep trying.
The other book that I would strongly recommend is THE EMOTIONALLY UNAVAILABLE MAN by Patti Henry. Patti's book identified some of the problems I was having in relating to the man in my life. This book deals with the issues from the man's and the woman's part in the drama of a relationship.
