From an Amazon reviewer:
Professor Hawking's book is easy, fun, and fascinating. Nothing drags, chapters are light while packed. One can read the book in a single sitting without too much trouble.
A few passages were over my head, but generally, even without any real background in physics, I could follow along. The book covers quantum theory, general relativity, black holes, the big bang, among other topics. Dotted throughout are brief references to the author's involvement in whichever theory, or his personal life.
The author more than once invokes God, but with surprising ease and lack of controversy. A joy to read, a tight bunch of information, effectively a neutron star of knowledge. When finished one will know much more than when he started, but also recognize how much magic mystery remains.
And it's full of quarks.
