The Journal of Major George Washington

The Governor's Letter to the Commandant of the French Forces on the Ohio

Translation of the Reply of a Principal French Officer, in Answer to the Governor's Letter

Notes
This is a wonderful book for all history lovers. The book itself is beautiful inside and out. I love this era of history so I very much enjoyed the happenings of Washington's delicate assignment to bargain for the support of the Indian leaders & to deliver a letter to the French commander. It is 1753 and Washington is but 20 years old. It was his first official mission. The book describes in his own words the trials of this mission. The incredibly difficult trip moving through chilling rains turned to heavy snows, ice blocked streams, and half blocked marshlands.
Much history packed between the two covers. Well worth the read. The book worth keeping if you collect.
