This was an excellent story of the adventure of a group of travelers off to save the world from misery and destruction. There is an thread woven in about whether fate is set or we have free will, and the final twist will surprise you. I liked the fact that the author does not make this seem as if the travelers were able to skip from one location to the next, but lets you know exactly how long (years) this journey takes the companions.
