Excellent book. Who hasn't thought about their past and ones they have lost and hoped to have just one more day with them.
Chick (main character) is not necessarily a likeable person, but I found myself liking him and rooting for him. Extremely emoitional and I think it is a keeper. Yes - it is a bit similar to Mitch's other books, but if you liked the other ones you will enjoy this too.
NOTE: I have seen the made-for-tv movies on all of his books and I don't think that it does them justice. Read the book - forget the movie!
