Libby picked up her English book, and then let it fall back on her desk as she stared in amazement. That new boy in class was Jerry Grosbeck! Libby hadn't seen him since they'd lived in the same foster home two years ago, but there was no mistaking the long, white scar on his face. What a mess everything was! The new English teacher hated her. And Joanne Tripper was never going to stop pestering Libby and trying to make trouble. Now, on top of everything else, Jerry Grosbeck had to turn up! Just then, Jerry caught Libby's eye and glared at her. He remembered Libby, that's for sure! Libby lifted her pointed chin. She'd just have to stay away from Jerry. That part of her life was over. She wasn't an ugly aid kid anymore. She was a Christian now; soon she'd be adopted by the Johnsons. Jerry wasn't a part of her life anymore...Or was he?
