This is an anthology of four fairy tale romances (each short enough to read in an hour or two) built around the common theme of a rose. Fantasy lovers might enjoy this book also, as there is magic in each story.

Winter Rose by Nora Roberts: On a remote island cursed with eternal winter, a young queen heals a wounded soldier with her gift - and warms her heart with the joys of true love.

The Rose and the Sword by Jill Gregory: An exciled princess's last hope for recovering her lost kingdom lies with the embittered prince she is pledged to marry. For only the Rose Scepter and the Sword of Marric together can save her kingdom.

The Roses of Glenross by Ruth Ryan Langan: Sheltered in an abbey in war-torn Scotland, a lonely lass tends a haunted rose garden, and a recovering highland soldier meets a waiting ghost.

The Fairest Rose by award-winning author Marianne Willman: (This was my favorite story in the book.) Embarking on a dangerous quest to find the egg of the Phoenix, a bold warrior falls for the one woman who has the power to save his life - and hold his heart.
