I definitely wasn't bored, but it started to feel like overload. Spencer-Fleming sure didn't give Clare and Russ - or anyone else - any breaks in this book. It was out of the frying pan into the fire and back again several times. I guess the kid with the liver transplant helped give a sense of urgency. But the snowstorm, the kidnapping, the threat to their jobs etc really felt like piling on plot complications just for fun. Same with Hadley and Kevin. I did like that Russ and Clare's relationship isn't automatically a love fest. Good imagery too, I felt like I was there (and cold). But really, Russ ought to have looked at the weather forecast, they were reasonably accurate way back in 2013... Anyway, I've now re-read the books on my shelf, so at least I'll remember who's who for the next one.
