This book is amazing. If you don't like animals, no problem - I'm sure this book will make you! The stories are great and all, but the most important thing is that they make you really appreciate animals in all forms. The book teaches us that we share this world with fascinating, intelligent and beautiful creatures who should be valued and appreciated. They, too, have personalities, likes and dislikes, and everything else; I have four dogs and each one has a distinct personality. This book appreciates each and every personality-type. In the end, everyone is a winner and each dog, cat, horse or whatever animal it might be, is a hero, if only in their owner's heart.

I only give it a 4 because I don't like stories that make me cry, and some of these will.
