Grisham interweaves law, religion and hope into this text. It still has some legal stuff and suspense - it is unlike his other books where there is a 'bad guy.' It is a book that makes you look at money and what it does to families, and how it shapes the people it comes into contact with.
It's a great illustration of struggle, greed, hope, and the human spirit.
