I'm normally not a mystery reader but I enjoyed "The Hunting Party"! What I found really fun while reading the book, was Foley didn't even tell you WHO the victim was until right before you found out who the killer was! So not only was I reading the story trying to guess who had died (because the chapters alternate between before and after the murder), but I was also guessing who killed my current âvictimâ.
About halfway thru you find out the gender of the victim, which then narrowed down my suspected victim to two people, but I could not guess the killer until right before the big reveal!
Foley wrote the murder mystery masterfully by giving you all the clues you needed, but added enough red herrings to keep you distracted and second guessing yourself the entire time!
For Foley not writing in my preferred genre, she kept me wildly entertained!
