I am a huge Stephen King fan and by far, the Dark Tower series is my absolute favorite of his stories. So, like many, I was a little skeptical on hearing other authors besides King were adding to and enhancing this fantastic tale. I am happy to say, I love what they've done with the place. :)
The artwork alone is reason enough to get the graphic novels. Granted "Gunslinger Born" (the first one) basically retells Wizard in the Glass but, as one of the author's notes, it's the natural starting point. Also, Stephen King himself gets final seal of approval on all these before they see the light of day, so we know the tale's creator is satisfied.
The Long Road Home follows Roland, Cuthbert, and Alain on their run from Mejis back to Gilead. Sheemie also follows along and has some harrowing adventures of his own. Roland's mind is trapped in the Wizard's Glass and his friends must work to rescue him from its grip all while keeping their physical bodies safe on the journey.
Great book! (I received the hardcover for Christmas which is the only reason I'm letting this one go! It's in great condition)
