At this stage in her career, McKenna needed to do a better job of using the language; substitutions of site for sight and unsolved for unresolved distract the reader. Some parts of the plot are predictable; others are not. However, I have to give her credit for having the courage to set a romance in the middle of the Vietnam War in the mid-60's.

This ties closely into and contains characters from the previous story, Ride the Tiger.
