When Sarah Brandt's mother, Mrs. Felix Decker, attends a séance against her daughter's wishes, one of the attendees ends up dead. Mrs. Decker requests that Detective Sergeant Frank Malloy investigate so he can protect the rich Mrs. Decker from any scandal. With the help of Sarah, Frank discovers that all of the attendees were sitting in the dark holding hands while Madam Serafina called up the spirits. Since everyone was holding hands, Frank and Sarah need to figure out how someone entered the dark room and killed on of the attendees without anyone noticing.

Another good addition to the Gaslight Mysteries series. Every one of the suspects had reasons for wanting the victim dead. We just had to figure out which one really used a stiletto to end a life while everyone else was oblivious. My rating: 4 Stars.
