I must say I was very dissapointed with this book. It didn't live up to all the hype. I had been putting off reading it for the longest time, but now that the movie is coming out I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie. Now I will be waiting until the movie comes out on pay-per-view if I watch it at all. I know the main character, Bella, is 17 but I wasn't expecting it to be completely juvenile. It reminded me of the 'Sweet Valley High' books I read in junior high, only with vampires and werewolves. Maybe if I was a tween instead of an adult, it would have appealed to me more. But it seemed that tweens and adults alike loved this book, so maybe that made me set my expectations a little too high. And the relationship between Bella and her dad, I couldn't tell if she was his daughter or his housekeeper. Bella and Edward's relationship wasn't intriguing or romantic. It was rather strange and sometimes creepy (him following her and watching her sleep at night). I did force myself to complete the book just to say I read it. Looking back, I'm glad I checked it out from the local library instead of spending money to buy it.
