Bill Bryson has a wonderful way of expressing himself through his books. In this book, he has decided to take to the Appalachian Trail. First, he must find a hiking partner to go along with him. The one he finds seems a questionable choice, but he is happy to have someone, anyone, to walk the trail with. He finds the humor in any situation and you just laugh as you follow their adventures along the trail. Ultimately, they realize that they will never be able to hike the entire 2,000+ mile trail, but as they complete the sections that they do, you have to agree with them that, truly, they HAVE hiked the AT--even if it is an abbreviated version.
