Derek Meade, Lois' husband is in charge of a large fund raising event....a soap box Grand Prix.....but there is some funny business.....attempted arson....body of an unknown individual found in the canal....unsavory character hanging around the school and threats to newcomers to the village. This book was my least favorite in the series so far, but was still a worthwhile read...I do hope the next one is better...
