Denver ex-cop and current book dealer, Cliff Janeway is looking for a book and a killer.  Who else but John Dunning could bring an 80-year-old theft to life, and make it believable?  This is the third book in this wonderful bookseller series; it turned me into a first-edition sleuth (for years).

This story is about Sir Richard Burton (no, not that one), the British explorer and consummate writer.  The plot is tightly woven into the wonderful characterizations of John Dunning.  I'm re-reading this series because the author hasn't written a new one in eons.  I remember reading years ago that he was seriously ill. However, Google doesn't list him as deceased, so I wonder why he doesn't write.

Anyway, these books are worth a reader's time, plus you learn the inside scoop about book dealers and book scouts.  Fascinating stuff.
