A wonderful retelling of an Alaskan legend. In a time of great suffering, a tribe decides to abandon two old women who are viewed as offering little value. What follows reminds us to remember the ingenuity of our elders, and that our elders can be far more capable than even they dreamed. An uplifting story, with lots of issues to discuss and ponder; I've ordered several copies through PBS and sent to friends. Very easily read in a couple of hours, but one you'll remember.
