This is an excellent book.
I have battled different types of eating disorders on and off since I was a teenager. I have been in therapy, therapy groups and read many books to try and work through my addiction to food. I have been successful for a number of years in staying abstinent from my eating disorder symptoms, but I've found myself falling back into my old unhealthy patterns when another major life stressor hit. This book made me feel validation, love and so much hope in my lifelong struggle with food. I loved how this book was written. Even the information about the effects of food on brain chemisty were broken down into simple, easy to understand terms. The exercises in this book helped me to identify my triggers and see all the ways I substitute food when I am yearning for love, acceptance or validation. I am truly grateful to Rhona Epstein for giving this gift to those of us who struggle with the painful addiction of overeating. You are not alone. This book has given me tools to help heal my body, mind and spirit. I know it can help you too. Please read this.
