This novel is a quick read. Full of historical information and wonderful insight into the lives of Alcott, her family, and other Transcendentalists of the era. It did lend itself to a little bit of romance, but it was minor. A well written novel that should definitely be read if you are interested in anything to do with historical fiction from the Civil War era!
