Krista Hart is the editor of a weekly ladies' gazette aptly named Heart to Heart. When she first meets Lief Draugr, he is little more than a dirty beast, snarling at and being abused by his captors. She blackmails the sideshow owner into releasing Lief, and she and her father take him home. Lief cleans up really well, especially after her father transforms him into a proper English gentleman. But when Krista's life is threatened, it is the Viking, not the faux gentleman, she calls on! Ginger Curwen
