The steamiest of this series, the story of Adrik and Karen is Steaming Hot almost from page one. Adrik has gone missing from the Wilder family for 17 years. He's taken the name Warlord and lives as a warlord. He is a secret lover of Karen, then ultimately her captor and master until he finally frees her. They come face to face again two years later and find themselves on the run from the Varinski's.
It was a super sexy, heart palpitating book with a lot of action and forward momentum.
Having read the entire series, I would almost recommend stopping here. The next book, Into the Flame, is such a disappointment, especially after this story, it almost ruins the series for me.
