Soul-searching and beautifully written. Anyone who writes a review saying they didn't like 'all the stuff about bees' is really not getting it. I loved the line about neighbors these days defined as 'the strangers closest to us.' How true. The book is to me like a slow raking of the yard...you just keep at it and enjoy your time outdoors, thinking while you work. The author had a novel idea of combining beekeeping with a murder and thoughts on lifetime friendship. I loved being inside the old mans head as he thought things out.
