This book took me FOREVER to finish, and when that happens that means I am bored with the book and the story is dragging. This one did just that. I felt so much could have been taken from the book. I was tired of Sophie's Oh gosh I'm good, Oh gosh I'm not, Oh gosh I want to be loved, Oh gosh he loves me, Oh gosh he doesn't, oh gosh oh gosh oh gosh.......ugh. If you would have stripped most of that away you would have had an amazing book. Why is it that all epic battles only last a chapter? So much more of the battle could have taken place! Instead it's meek and weak. I really wish that this wasn't such a predictable book and that more could have been done to bring in more fairy tales and flesh them out. I'm like other readers, I wish book one would have been a standalone.
