Meh. I read all the Riley Jensen books, and the middle of that series became very boring to this reader. Unfortunately, Darkness Unbound starts off not unlike the middle of the RJ series, a little dull, repetitive, and not much going on that makes you care about any of the characters. Even characters we already know (Riley, Rhoan) didn't seem like themselves and the little glimpses we have of them wasn't enough to make up for the lackluster story. Too many characters, too many twists, too many subplots, you need a graph to keep track of it all.

Some pretty steamy, emotionless sex - even multiple partner sex (if that stuff bothers you, don't read Keri Arthur). A couple of guys in the wings for Risa, Arthur hasn't really established the root-for pairing in Risa's life. I wish Arthur could have made me care more about any character in the book, even the heroine. There was too much going on, too much exposition and introduction of new characters to create any emotional depth for the main characters.
