I'm so glad this story didn't waste any time on convoluted plots or deceptions. Instead I found a simple, straightforward storyline that focused on Cleo and Logan's budding romantic relationship and subsequent marriage. Cleo's background--an over large family steeped in poverty and rife with premature death--was original and fascinating. Her fear of being trapped in the same type of family life as her mother was real and a strong motivator to avoid marriage to any virile man and instead secure a marriage to a wealthy (for the sake of her mother and siblings) and elderly (for her own sake) man. Logan, too, was prepared to marry for money but changed gears somewhat when he recognized his attraction and growing feelings for Cleo as the better choice. All he had to do was get to the reason behind her fear.

This book was good reading with an exciting plot, sizzling sexual tension, and captivating lead couple. Recommended at four stars.
