I read this book and was sorely disappointed. It was fairly predictable and formulaic ...in fact it seemed like the basis for every other vampire romance story I've ever read, only without the good sex bits since this is aimed at Young Adults. LONG before Stephenie Meyer, there was LJ Smith, and if you want to read a TRULY good young adult vampire romance series, go pick up LJ Smith's Vampire Diaries books - much better than this attempt to romanticize the vampire.

I can't BELIEVE this book got a movie deal! I doubt I will read the other books in the series as the first was enough for me.
