Absolutely fantastic read about Toulouse-Lautrec. The author does a marvelous job of tacking us back in time to meet Lautrec's family who were wealthy and high in social status. We see him born, his childhood, teen years and young adulthood. We meet his friends and the world he felt comfortable with as an artist and as a differently abled person. There are also some superb photos of both Lautrec and his artworks. I felt as if I had gone back in time with him to pre-turn of the century France. This is a book I will not be forgetting any time soon!
