The Fallen Angels series is about the war between good and evil. The two sides have decided to let one person decide who will win the war. In the first book, Covet, we are introduced to Jim Heron, a former assassin who is charged with saving the souls of seven people. If he doesn't succeed, evil wins. Jim's first assignment is Vin diPietro, a very rich man who never has enough money. Jim tries to set Vin on what he believes is the right path. Both soon learn that things aren't what they seem. And when Vin meets Marie-Terese, he starts to question his destiny.
As always, Ward writes complex characters and an interesting plot. The first 50-pages are a little slow with the introduction of many so many characters. It took me a while to sort out how they would come together and who was good vs. evil. But, I found the romance between Vin and Marie-Terese kept me glued to the book. The overall story arc of good vs. evil is very well done. I also loved Jim and his new side-kicks. Can't wait for the next book in the series. My rating: 4.75 Stars.
