This was NOT anywhere near as close to enjoyable as the first book. I gave up after 120 pages because I was hoping it would improve. The repetitive tackiness of the lead character got old by page 2 and I found myself rolling my eyeballs at the redundancy of the flakiness that the first book offered.

Normally, I love a well-written vamp-lite comedy, but this one borders on awful with it's bimbo of a lead character, Lil, who's more worried about her shoes than anything else. (I believe we've seen this type of character before... Betsy anyone? At least those books were more likable.) And then there's Ty, the bad-boy bounty hunter... umm... Janet Evanovichy a bit?

The majority of the characters in this book, even though they're supposed to be centuries-years-old, are quite juvenile and undeveloped. There are definitely other authors out there who are more creative and witty than this one, so I'll probably skip reading any more books by Ray due to her unoriginality. I'm really glad I didn't buy this book new and just used a PBS credit to get it.
