This book by Toni Carrington just didn't touch something in me....
It is set in New Orleans, over Holloween week. The main problem I had with this book was the setting. I have been waiting for someone to set a book here since the hurricane. This one never mentions Katrina, or the aftermath. Just New Orleans business as usual.
It is about a detective that is on his way out because of a couple of bad choices in his life. And the twin sister of a murder victim. He is a man that is lost in a dark place in his life, his desire of the drink is getting out of contol, he had a bad choice affair with his captain's wife, his baby sister is missing, (she is 21 but still the baby) and then his ex-wife, who remained friends with, tells him about himself, then ends up dead... He keeps pushing Molly way, but then turning to her when can't resist her, but keeps emtion out of it. And Molly lets him.
Eventually they find the killer, and our detective finished cleaning up himself and went after the woman he loved, who had gone back to Toledo.
